Win a £7500 trip
of a lifetime
to Cuba!
AN AMAZING PRIZE AWAITS one lucky LIDS visitor and companion – a two-week trip centred on one of the world’s most exclusive reef-diving locations. The LIDS Grand Draw prize, provided courtesy of UK tour operator The Scuba Place, is valued at a cool £7500 and is free to enter for all Show visitors!
The winners will fly from London to Cuba with Virgin Atlantic and spend two nights in Havana’s grand 5* Iberostar Parque Central, with time to take in all the sights, sounds and history of this UNESCO World Heritage city.
A coach will then take you to Jucaro to spend seven full-board days on a liveaboard for 15 dives in the coral-island chain Los Jardines de La Reina. Only 700 divers dive there annually, so you’ll be joining an elite!
Marine life abounds in this well-protected marine reserve. Mangroves on one side of the islands host sting rays, bull sharks and saltwater crocodiles, while the reefs and walls on the other side feature not only critters but barracuda, tarpon, giant Cubera snapper, octopuses, huge lobsters and Goliath grouper. Everything is super-sized!
Twenty or more sharks are commonly seen on dives, including nurse, blacktip, whitetip, Caribbean reef, lemon and silky, with the occasional great hammerhead.
Surface intervals are spent on desert islands, iguana-spotting or snorkelling with lemon sharks! Post-dive, divers are presented with fresh pizza and a cocktail of the day after being whisked back to the liveaboard James Bond-style on the skiffs.
Another night in Havana is followed by five days in the 4* all-inclusive The Blau hotel in Varadero. Here a 96m Russian frigate, a commercial tanker in three sections and a plethora of military equipment provide wreck-divers with plenty to enjoy in the space of six dives, and a day trip to the Bay of Pigs is also possible.
Good luck in winning this trip of a lifetime!
